Urgent Roof Repair in Lynwood

A branch through the shingles, a ceiling that starts dripping during a winter storm, flashing torn loose by Santa Ana winds. We protect the damaged area, find out what failed and repair it so water stays out and your home stays comfortable. It starts with a roof inspection.

Help when roof damage won't wait

Some roof issues can wait for a convenient week. Others can't: an open hole, a missing stretch of shingles or tile, water running through a ceiling. That is what this service covers. First we make the roof secure, usually with a fastened tarp or a temporary patch, then we return for a proper repair once the full damage is known.

Sealing the roof fast protects more than your drywall. Soaked attic insulation flattens and stops working, so your air conditioner and heater run harder until it dries out or gets replaced. An opening at a vent or ridge also lets cooled air leak out. Closing the roof again helps your comfort and your utility bills as well as the structure.

Roofing Lynwood is a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we carry insurance. Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience, which matters when a roof is damaged and you need someone who can quickly tell what can be patched and what must be rebuilt.

What's in an urgent roof repair

Short-term protection

We fasten a heavy tarp over the damage, anchored to wood battens so wind can't get under it, or close a small opening with a patch. That keeps rain out while we plan the permanent fix.

Tracing the leak to its source

Water often shows on the ceiling several feet from where it enters. We follow it back to the cracked tile, lifted shingle, failed flashing or torn underlayment.

Checking the decking and attic

We probe the wood beneath the damage for soft spots and check the attic for wet insulation. A hidden problem left in place keeps costing you after the roof looks fine.

The lasting repair

We replace damaged shingles or tiles, underlayment, flashing and any rotted decking, matching what's already on your roof as closely as possible.

Photos and a written estimate

We give you photos of what we found and a free written estimate, useful for your records and for an insurance claim.

Cleaning up

We pick up broken tile, old nails and debris, then run a magnet across the yard and driveway before leaving.

Signs your roof needs help now

Water dripping through the ceiling
Drips, bubbled paint or a stain that spreads during rain mean water has already made it past the roof and into the house.
Shingles missing or tiles out of place
After a windy night, check for bare spots, shingles on the lawn or tiles knocked out of line. Every gap leaves the underlayment open to sun and rain.
A branch or debris on the roof
Even when nothing looks broken from below, a fallen limb can crack tile or puncture decking. Leave it where it is and let us look underneath.
Loose or lifted flashing
Bent or raised metal around a chimney, vent pipe or skylight is one of the most common ways water gets in after a storm.
Daylight showing in the attic
Go up into the attic on a sunny afternoon. If you see spots of light between the boards or feel a draft where the air should be still, the roof has an opening. Rain can come in the same way, and the cooled air you pay for can get out.
A soft or sagging section
A spot that dips or feels spongy may have wet or rotted decking underneath. Keep off it and keep people out of the room below.

How we handle it, step by step

  1. 1

    Tell us what happened

Describe the damage on the phone and we set up your free roof inspection. We'll also suggest simple things to do in the meantime, like moving furniture and putting a bucket under the drip.

  2. 2

    Inspect and cover

We look at the roof and attic, take photos and put temporary protection in place so no more water gets in.

  3. 3

    Go over the findings

We show you the photos, explain what failed and why, and give you a free written estimate for the permanent repair. If a repair will hold, we say so.

  4. 4

    Make the lasting repair

Once you approve the work, we remove the temporary cover and rebuild the damaged section properly, from decking and underlayment up to the finished surface.

  5. 5

    Final check and cleanup

We check the repair, look over the surrounding roof for anything we missed and leave your yard clean.

What sets the price of an urgent repair

We won't guess at a price over the phone, because a damaged roof has to be seen first. After the inspection you receive a free written estimate that lists the temporary cover apart from the permanent repair, so it's clear what each part pays for. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

Size of the damaged area
A handful of lifted shingles is a quick job. An opening left by a fallen limb takes more material and more labor.
Type of roof
Clay and concrete tile need more care to lift and reset than asphalt shingles, and a flat or low-slope roof uses different materials entirely.
Damage below the surface
If water reached the decking or soaked the attic insulation, replacing them adds to the job. You see photos before anything is added.
Slope and access
A steep or hard-to-reach roof needs more safety setup, which adds time on the job.

Urgent roof repair questions

Should I go up and cover the damage myself?
Please don't. A wet roof is slick and damaged decking can give way. Stay on the ground, catch any water indoors and leave the roof to us.
Will insurance cover the damage?
It depends on your policy and the cause, and only your insurer can decide on coverage. We work directly with your insurance claim and provide photos, a written description of the damage and an itemized estimate for the adjuster.
Will a tarp hold until the season ends?
A tightly secured tarp is a short-term measure. Sun wears it down and wind pulls at the edges. It gives you a little time to plan the permanent repair, not months of cover.
Does storm damage mean a new roof?
Usually not, since most sudden damage can be fixed. If the roof is close to the end of its life and the damage is spread out, we'll explain why roof replacement might be the better choice and leave the decision to you.
