Hail Damage Repair in Lynwood
Hail can leave marks you can't see from the yard: bruised shingles, cracked tiles, dented vents. We climb up, photograph what we find and give you a written plan to repair it, so your roof keeps out water and holds back summer heat.

What hail does to a roof, and when to have it checked
Hail is not a regular visitor here, which is exactly why it catches people off guard. A short burst during a winter storm can knock the protective granules off asphalt shingles, crack older clay or concrete tiles and dent metal flashing, vents and gutters. Most of it is invisible from the ground.
Those granules matter more than they look. They shield the asphalt from UV and reflect part of the sun's heat. When patches of them are gone, the shingle underneath ages faster and the roof deck soaks up more heat, which your attic and your air conditioner feel all summer.
If you heard hail on the roof, found granules in the gutters or saw dents on cars and patio covers, it's worth a look before the next rain. We'll tell you plainly whether the damage needs a repair, belongs on an insurance claim or can be left alone.
What our hail damage repair covers
- A full roof walk with photos
- Hail rarely lands evenly, so we go over each slope, ridge and valley on your home. You get photos of every bruise, crack and dent, plus the areas that came through fine, so you see the roof the same way we did.
- Shingle and tile replacement
- Bruised or fractured asphalt shingles are cut out and replaced with matching ones, sealed and nailed to the pattern. Cracked tiles are swapped and the underlayment beneath them is checked for tears.
- Flashing, vents and metal parts
- Dented vent caps, pipe boots and flashing can open small gaps where water gets in. We reseat or replace them so the roof stays sealed.
- Gutters and downspouts
- Hail dents gutters and clogs them with granules and debris. We clean them out and repair or replace damaged runs so water leaves the roof the way it should.
- Help with your insurance claim
- We work directly with your insurance claim, meeting the adjuster if you'd like and sharing our photos and measurements. The adjuster makes the coverage decision; our job is to show clearly what the hail did.
- Cool-rated options when a larger area is replaced
- If a slope or the whole roof needs replacing, we'll walk you through reflective shingle and tile choices. California's energy code can require a cool-rated surface on larger reroofs, and these materials help keep attic temperatures down.
Signs your roof may have hail damage
Granules piling up
Dark, sandy grit in the gutters or at the bottom of downspouts after a storm usually means shingles lost part of their coating.
Dents on soft metal
Look at gutters, downspouts, vent caps and the AC unit. If those show round dents, the roof took the same hits.
Cracked or chipped tiles
Broken corners or hairline cracks on clay and concrete tile can let water reach the underlayment, which wears out much faster once exposed.
Dark spots on shingles
Small, darker circles where granules were knocked loose, sometimes soft to the touch, are classic hail bruises.
A warmer upstairs
If rooms under the roof feel hotter than last summer after a storm season, worn or damaged roofing can be part of the reason. It's worth ruling out.

What affects the cost of hail repair
Every hail repair is priced from what we actually find on your roof. Your written estimate shows each item so you know where the money goes. If the claim is approved, insurance may cover much of it, and financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.
- How much of the roof was hit
- A few bruised shingles on one slope is a small repair. Damage spread across every slope may make replacing a section or the whole roof the better value.
- Roofing material
- Matching asphalt shingles is usually simpler than sourcing tile that matches an older roof's color and profile.
- What's underneath
- Torn underlayment or soft decking found under broken tiles or shingles adds to the work, and we'll show you photos before doing it.
- Metal and gutter repairs
- Replacing dented vents, flashing or gutter runs is priced separately so you can see each piece.
- Permits and energy code
- Larger reroofs need a permit and may need cool-rated materials. We pull the permit and include it in the estimate.
Hail damage repair questions
Something not covered here? (310) 957-5824
The roof looks fine from the ground. Should I still have it checked?
Yes, if you know hail fell. Bruised shingles and hairline tile cracks rarely show from the yard. The inspection is free, and if we find nothing, you've lost only a little time.
Will you deal with my insurance company?
We work directly with your insurance claim. We can meet the adjuster, share our photos and point out each damaged area. The coverage decision is theirs, but clear documentation helps them see what happened.
Who will be working on my roof?
We're a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we're insured. The owner has 40 years of roofing experience and has seen plenty of storm damage on shingle and tile roofs alike.
Can a hail-damaged roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Many roofs only need a section repaired. If the damage is spread across the roof or the roof is already near the end of its life, replacement may be the smarter spend, especially with a cooler roof surface. We'll give you the honest answer either way and explain our reasoning with photos.
Does hail damage really affect my energy bills?
It can. Lost granules leave asphalt more exposed to the sun, and that extra heat moves into the attic. It won't change your bill overnight, but over a few summers a worn roof works against your AC.
