Storm Damage Repair in Lynwood, Starting With a Roof Inspection

Wind and heavy rain can loosen shingles, crack tiles and peel back flashing without leaving anything obvious behind. We find that damage, photograph it for you and your insurer, and repair it so your home stays dry and comfortable.

What Storm Damage Repair Covers

A strong winter storm or a gusty Santa Ana day doesn't always leave shingles on the lawn. A lifted tab, a cracked tile or a bent flashing edge can look fine from the driveway and still let water under the roof the next time it rains. Storm damage repair means finding those spots, documenting them and fixing them before they turn into stained ceilings or soft decking.

There is a quieter cost too. Water that reaches the attic soaks the insulation, and damp insulation holds back far less heat. Torn vents and gaps at the ridge can also upset attic airflow. Sealing the roof again helps keep your rooms comfortable and your cooling bills closer to where they were before the storm.

Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience. If one section took the hit, we repair that section. If the storm finished off a roof that was already near the end, we'll tell you plainly and talk through roof replacement instead.

What We Do After a Storm

A full roof inspection

We walk the roof, check flashing, vents, valleys and gutters, and look in the attic when it's accessible. That's where damp insulation or a fresh water stain tells us the most.

Dated photos of every damaged area

You get wide shots and close-ups of what we found. They help you see the problem for yourself and give your insurance company a clear record.

Temporary protection

If a section is open to the weather, we tarp it securely so rain stays out until the permanent repair is done.

Shingle, tile and flat roof repairs

We replace blown-off shingles and match them as closely as the current product line allows. On tile roofs we replace cracked pieces and check the underlayment beneath, since that layer does the real waterproofing. Torn flat roof membranes get patched or resealed.

Flashing, vents and gutters

Wind loves to pry at flashing around chimneys and walls. We reseal or replace it, swap out crushed vents so the attic can breathe again, and rehang gutters the storm pulled loose.

Help with your insurance claim

We work directly with your insurance claim. We can meet the adjuster on the roof and explain what we found, while the coverage decision stays with your insurer.

Signs Your Roof Took Storm Damage

Shingles or tile pieces on the ground
Anything from the roof in your yard means there is an opening somewhere up top, even if you can't see it from below.
New ceiling stains or a musty attic
A yellow ring on the ceiling or a damp smell in the attic after rain usually means water got past the roof covering.
Bent flashing or missing vent caps
Metal that's lifted, dented or gone near a chimney, wall or vent is a common entry point for wind-driven rain.
Debris packed in the gutters
Piles of granules, broken tile chips or branches in the gutters can point to surface damage and can also cause overflow at the fascia.
Rooms feel warmer after the storm
If upstairs rooms run hotter or the AC works harder after a storm, wet insulation or damaged vents could be the reason. It's worth a look.

How a Storm Repair Job Goes

  1. 1

    You give us a call

Tell us what you noticed and when the storm came through. We set a time for your free roof inspection, and we're happy to help in English or Spanish.

  2. 2

    Inspection and photos

We check the roof and attic, take photos and walk you through them. You'll know what's damaged, what isn't, and whether a repair will hold.

  3. 3

    A written estimate

You get a free written estimate that lists each repair. If you're filing a claim, we share the photos and scope with you and can meet your adjuster.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We protect plants and walkways, tear out only what's damaged, and rebuild it with matching materials, sealing flashing and vents as we go.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and a final look

We sweep the yard for nails, haul away debris, and show you the finished work with after photos.

What Moves the Price of a Storm Fix

We can't put a fair number on the work until we've been up on your roof and seen the damage firsthand, so your written estimate follows the inspection. When a claim is approved, your out-of-pocket amount is frequently just the deductible. If you're covering the work yourself, financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

How much area was damaged
A few lifted shingles is a small job. A whole slope stripped by wind takes more material and labor.
Your roofing material
Shingles, clay or concrete tile, and flat roof membranes each repair differently. Tile often means careful removal and resetting around the broken pieces.
What's underneath
If water has already reached the decking or soaked the underlayment, those layers need replacing too. Catching damage early keeps this part smaller.
Getting up there and getting around
A low, gentle roof over a single-story house goes quickly. A steep roof or a two-story home calls for harnesses, roof jacks and more time, and a narrow path to the backyard slows down carrying material in and debris out.

Storm Damage Questions We Hear Often

Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
Either order works, but having the roof inspected first helps. Our photos show you whether there's real damage before you open a claim. If there is, you'll have a clear record to share.
Will my insurance pay for the repair?
That depends on your policy and what caused the damage, and only your insurer can decide. What we can do is document the damage carefully, explain it to the adjuster, and work directly with your claim from there.
Can you match my existing shingles?
We match color and style as closely as current products allow. On older roofs the color can differ slightly at first, and we'll show you options before any work begins.
Do I need a whole new roof after a storm?
Usually not. Most storm damage is repairable. If the roof was already worn out and the storm pushed it over the edge, we'll say so and explain why.
Is your company licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we're insured. You're welcome to ask about either on your call.
Can I wait until the dry season to fix it?
Small openings tend to grow with each rain, and damp insulation keeps losing its value the longer it stays wet. A temporary tarp can buy time, but we'd suggest getting the inspection soon so you know where you stand.
